Abstract :
The ionosphere is not homogeneous, hosting many irregularities with different scales from dozens of meters to dozens of kilometers. The observation and formation mechanism of the irregularities is among the most active domains for understanding the influence of irregularities on propagation of radio waves. The characteristics of ionospheric field-aligned irregularity (FAI) at low-latitude regions were investigated in this letter in terms of analyzing the data obtained from ionospheric sounding experiments using the Wuhan University ionospheric oblique backscattering system, in which the scales and drift speeds of FAIs were specified.
