Abstract
Based on information derived from bibliographic titles in the INSPEC database, this report identifies trends in experimental and theoretical materials research. It considers three specific questions: which chemical elements in the given literature are most widely studied by experiment and simulation; how did the experiment and theory of these materials change from 1989 to 1999; and can we observe any trends from such work?
