Abstract :
The 15 papers in this special section on new and emerging technologies in bioinformatics and bioengineering have been grouped into the following categories: 1) computational intelligence and data mining in support of decision making in biomedicine; 2) new applications and wireless communication issues in body sensor networks; 3) human-computer interaction; and 4) medical imaging and physiological systems modeling.
