Abstract :
A CMOS circuit for the simultaneous computation of linguistic values and the T-norm in fuzzy controllers is proposed. The circuit approximates a differentiable multiple-input true T-norm: a normalised product of Gaussian membership functions with adaptive heights. This results in a compact analogue implementation, avoiding the use of an explicit defuzzifier, in which the circuit complexity of the whole controller does not increase with the number of rules
