Abstract :
The authors consider an integrated voice/data multiplexer, in which data packets are buffered under the control of an ARQ retransmission scheme, while voice signals are transmitted in real time. To investigate the performance of such a system, a Markov renewal sequence model is used and the mean data packet delay calculated. Analytical results are validated by simulation
