Abstract :
An accurate yet simple high-speed tachometer based on the stroboscopic principle can have wide application. High accuracy, however, would require a digital or decade readout. A system is presented whose functional operation and unit design is capable of measuring and reading speeds from 20 to 50,000 rpm with an accuracy of ±1 rpm without mechanically loading the motor shaft being observed
