Abstract
A novel high precision digital delay element for use in impulse radar beamforming is presented. By using digitally tunable delay elements, a simple digital calibration procedure is possible using a novel, non-inverting ring oscillator in combination with an accurate clock reference. All process dependent errors, such as mismatch and process variations, are corrected and may be stored as a digital calibration pattern.
