Abstract :
Blood pressure is the last of the four physiologic variables known as clinical vital signs that we will consider in this tutorial series. In essence, pressure and heart rate are the two vital signs that evaluate the cardiovascular system. Although pressure is important throughout the cardiovascular system, the vital sign of blood pressure refers to the arterial blood pressure, and this is a time-varying quantity because of the cyclic pumping nature of the heart.
