Abstract :
A Raman fibre amplifier providing small signal gain of over 30 dB in the U-band has been demonstrated. In addition, a dual wavelength pumped Raman amplifier with broad flattened gain (ripple better than 1.5 dB) over the spectral range 1600-1670 nm is presented
