  • Abstract
A differential equation model for linear induction machines is developed that is capable of predicting both transient and steady-state performance. The model is verified by comparison with switch-on transient measurements taken at constant speed. Additional verification is given by including mechanical equations and comparing a variable speed run-up prediction with measurements taken on a large scale test rig
