Abstract :
We propose a novel fiber-optic microwave filter based on wavelength conversion employing cross-gain modulation of amplified spontaneous emission spectrum of the semiconductor optical amplifier. By incorporating a section of high-dispersion fiber to provide wavelength selective time delays, the filter can achieve a broad-band tuning capability. Experiment results show this filter can realize negative tap with low cost, and has excellent broad range tuning capability.
