  • Abstract
The application of an evolution strategy for the optimal design of high voltage bushing electrodes in transformers is investigated. The convergence of calculation and the evolution principles are specially developed and some measures to accelerate the speed of the strategy are pointed out. The electrode of the bushing can be made in many different ways, in which all of them have the same outline size and are installed in the same bushing. In order to discover the best shape, the following demands are considered: lower maximum and well-distributed electric stress on the surface of electrode; more reliability during operation; and easier realization in large scale production. A verification test has been carried out successfully
