Abstract :
Specific features of electromagnetic transients in condensed matter, caused by the dynamic character of shock compression, are studied. The governing parameters and the characteristic times and lengths determining the global electromagnetic pattern in the conductor are found. The structure of current waves is revealed for dielectric-metal and metal-metal transitions under shock compression.
