Abstract :
This paper presents the process to determine several power distribution systems, considered as prototypes of those, which currently are operated in Colombia. The work here presented is guided by technical standards provided by several utility operators. The implemented power systems are next used as a test bed to validate some of the fault location methodologies, previously developed. These power systems are a good replica of the currently installed power distribution systems in Colombia, and probably in several regions of the world. As results several prototypes were defined and used in fault location tasks, which finally is aimed to improve the power continuity indexes.
