Abstract :
In this issue of IEEE Control Systems Magazine, we speak with Andrzej Banaszuk, United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) program leader for the Sikorsky business unit of United Technologies. He also is a Fellow of the IEEE. In his career at UTRC, Andrzej has held positions of increasing responsibility including group leader for controls technology in the Systems Department, project leader within the Pratt & Whitney and Hamilton Sundstrand Program Offices, and a fellow within the Systems Department prior to his current role. He has served as an associate editor of IEEE Transactions of Controls Systems Technology and on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Control Systems Society. He is the author of 41 journal papers, 70 conference papers, and seven patents. For his work on active and passive control of flow instabilities in jet engines, he received the IEEE Control Systems Technology Award in 2007. Andrzej holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
