Abstract :
This study aims to analyze the transient stability of an unbalanced power distribution system (PDS) with distributed generation (DG), whose primary machine is a thermal turbine. This analysis is done by applying faults in different locations of the feeder and the determination of the critical clearing fault time. The evaluation is done with three load scenarios and for each of these thresholds were applied short circuit in four different system buses. Still, it was evaluated the dynamic response of the PDS and generator considering the following types of faults: three-phase, two phase-to-ground, phase-phase and phase-to-ground. The simulation results show interesting conclusions regarding the critical clearing fault time, showing a different behavior with respect to the case of generators connected to the transmission system.
