Abstract
This article discusses the interruption rating of low-voltage devices. The application of low-voltage circuit breakers for interrupting duty requires consideration of motor contributions, power factor of the fault current, and ground faults from solidly grounded sources. Under specific conditions, ground fault duty can exceed the three-phase bolted fault value and over duty the equipment.
