Abstract :
Imagine you walk in to your new industrial electronics position ready for your new project. Your manager comes to you and instead of asking, “What is your great design?” he or she says, “What is your plan? What budget do you need?” Maybe this is an unexpected request. After adjusting to business requirements for a while, you might start having thoughts of a management role for yourself. Or as a manager, you might wish to strengthen your leadership role to open more opportunities as an industrial electronics manager. These are not common topic areas in a class on sensors or power electronics, but they are required to survive in business. However, they are the focus of the IEEE Technology Management Council (TMC).
