Abstract :
We describe the camera of the fluorescence detector of the Auger Observatory. The design of the camera body, which allows packing hexagonal pixels on a spherical focal surface, is presented. We report on the characteristics of the hexagonal photomultipliers and the performance of light collectors, placed in front of the photomultipliers, in terms of the camera uniformity
