Abstract :
A new 3-D view-factor code has been developed to aid experiment design in indirect-drive inertial confinement fusion experiments. The code can model arbitrary user-defined hohlraum and beam configurations using a ray-tracing algorithm and an iterative approach to solving the radiosity equation. It is designed for ease of use, utilizing an open XML file format and GUI tools for rapid experiment design and evaluation. Results have been obtained and compared well with those obtained in experiment. Rendered images of the results of the code in modeling a Nova laser-driven hohlraum are presented.
