Abstract :
Electric induction heating of process fluids has had little application outside metal processing. The authors attempt to explain why the qualities of inductive heating are of interest in a much wider area of process fluid heating, and report some experimental data to support this proposal. Although there are a number of different possible geometries, such as discs, meshes or porous elements, these experiments were carried out on the simple tubular system. They discuss the theory of induction heating of tubes and also the practical considerations
