Abstract :
An X-band cross-polarized synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image taken from an aircraft has been absolutely calibrated using 45°-inclined dihedral corner reflectors with an aperture dimension of 15 cm×25 cm. The experiment was carried out during an airborne SAR campaign (called the SAR-580 Experiment) conducted by the National Space Development Agency of Japan in 1983. The experimental procedure, the characteristics of the corner reflector, and the results of the experiment are described
