Abstract :
The compression of higher order solitons in a standard singlemode fibre followed by a short dispersion decreasing fibre enables the high quality compression of pulses as broad as 21 ps down to 130-140 fs to be obtained from an electroabsorption modulator source over a wide modulation frequency range of 6.67-18 GHz
