Abstract
The authors predict and calculate the diffraction of millimetre waves by an elastic wave in partially magnetised magnetoelastic ferrites. This diffraction at 94 GHz in a nickel-zinc ceramic plate with a standing elastic wave is experimentally demonstrated. Based on this effect, acoustic deflectors can now be developed for beam steering antennas at millimetre frequencies
