Abstract
From an industrial design perspective, it is desirable for wireless devices that incorporate display screens to use the entire side of a device for a display screen. The display screen is the user interface and a larger viewing area gives a better user experience. The border along the outside of the display screen is usually allocated for antenna function. As display screens are mostly made of metal material, the radiated performance of the bordering antennas are generally limited or degraded by the nearby display screen as it is usually part of the grounding system. This work tries to solve this scenario by using the display screen itself as the fed antenna radiator.
