Abstract :
The commenter updates the above-titled paper (see ibid., vol.25, p.125-136, 1990), which reviews test methods for polymer compounds used in HV applications. Five papers for further reading are recommended. The differences that have been observed between the surface discharge and dry-band arcing on polymer surface and on porcelain and glass insulators are discussed, and an explanation is offered. The author of the original paper commends the commenter for his work and discusses further work currently underway.<>
