Abstract :
A low-loss microstrip matching circuit with large bandwidth for connecting a laser diode that has a nominal impedance of 2 Ω to a 50 Ω system is described. The technique utilizes a microstrip Chebyshev transformer without very wide line widths to obtain the match at a center frequency of 10.5 GHz with a bandwidth of 9 GHz, an insertion loss of less than 1.5 dB, and a reflection coefficient of better than -10 dB
