Abstract :
Maintenance has a product: it produces availability and reliability. It is not rocket science, and yet availability and reliability may be elusive. The author looks at the maintenance engineers´ product defects and how to reduce them. A methodical, controlled, and managed approach is what is required. The delay reductions may be significant. Greater than 50% reductions in delay time have occurred in some cases. However, the really good news is that the investment cost is minimal, and it is very quickly self-financing
