Abstract :
This paper deals, in more or less historical order, with decimetre-wave transmitter developments at the research establishment, now known as the Telecommunications Research Establishment, during the period from 1940 until the end of the war in Europe in 1945. The scope is deliberately limited to the band of wavelengths in the region of 50 cm, and the development is related to a background of valve technique and operational requirements. Associated common-aerial switch units and power output meters are also described.
