Abstract :
This paper reviews the development of a linear array employing dipole elements fed from a wave-guide source. To obtain a performance not critically dependent upon change of frequency, as regards shape of polar diagram, the elements are fed from the waveguide source at quarter-wave intervals. By offsetting these elements alternately on either side of the centre line of the feed system, objectionable coupling effects are minimized, and a distribution of radiation in the vertical plane suitable for feeding a parabolic cylinder is obtained.
