Abstract :
A methodology to construct transmission tower models for lightning performance studies is presented. The proposal allows for the inclusion of distributed losses, nonuniform surge velocities, and tower arm modeling. As this methodology is based on standard transmission line theory, its application to practical analysis is straightforward
