Abstract :
The influence of the ionosphere on ultra-short-wave radar operation is briefly discussed and an account is given of recent investigations on galactic radio noise and solar radio noise. Unwanted effects from both the ionosphere and extra-terrestrial noise sources are found to be less appreciable as the wavelength decreases.
