Abstract
In this study, the data set of received signal strength (RSS) and time of arrival (TOA) measurements is obtained by using the test setup with ZigBee devices for indoor positioning applications. By using this data set, performance of three types of fingerprinting positioning techniques is analysed with respect to the mean RSS value based, the universally accepted lognormal fading model based and lognormal mixture fading based methods. Analysis results show that the mean RSS based fingerprinting method gives the best results, while it is found noteworthy that the location is estimated more accurately via the mixture fading model than via lognormal fading model.
