Abstract
The use of the cathode-ray tube to display radar information has given it a special significance in radar design. The problem of the visibility of c.r.t. traces has therefore been investigated with a view to improving c.r.t. design, and information has been collected of the visibility of signals of different shapes and sizes seen against uniform and non-uniform backgrounds. Persistence of vision has been studied with a view to assessing screen ¿flash¿ characteristics.
