Abstract :
Dr. Julius Goldhirsh passed away on March 6, 2011, after a brief battle with leukemia. Those who had the privilege and pleasure of working with Julius understand the magnitude of this loss. He made major contributions to science, engineering, and to many people´s lives and careers.
