Abstract :
The transmission spectrum of self-similar multilayered structures exhibits sharp peaks within forbidden frequency bandgaps. Here, advantage is taken of this property to design selective microwave filters. For this purpose self-similar multi-slab media with variable lucunarity (i.e. variable distribution of gap sizes) are inserted in a metallic waveguide
