Abstract
The Consol navigation system embodies a chain of independently operated medium-frequency radio stations with respect to each of which bearings may be taken with the aid of a standard communication receiver. The principles of operation of the constituent stations are given and the equipment required is briefly described. Factors influencing the accuracy of the system and ranges to be expected in various parts of the world are discussed.
