Abstract
An analytical expression for the dynamic point spread functions (PSFs) of the scanner for radiation budget (ScaRaB) FM1 broadband radiometer is derived. The calculated PSFs are validated by comparing ScaRaB broadband radiances with high-resolution METEOSAT 5 broadband radiance estimations. The derived, PSFs reduce the relative rms difference between the radiances with 54% for the shortwave radiances and with 8% for the longwave radiances
