Abstract :
Active modelocking at 10 GHz of a 10 mm-long fibre Fabry-Perot laser in a ring cavity is demonstrated. Very stable pulse trains without supermode noise were obtained. The pulsewidth was ~10 ps, which could be shortened to 1.6 ps by insertion of highly-nonlinear fibre
