Abstract
Ageing is a gradual change of state and property that usually leads to a degree of malfunction. The primal process in all cases is that the chemical and physical bonds between the atoms of the substance are repeatedly broken, reorganized, and reformed in new configurations. The author lends considerable insight into the mechanics of ageing, especially electrical failure involving insulation.
