Abstract
Cycloaliphatic epoxy resins (CEP) have been used successfully alongside silicones and ceramics (porcelain, glass) for more than 30 years as insulation materials for outdoor applications. The authors discuss a new generation of cycloaliphatic epoxy systems with enhanced hydrophobic properties, hydrophobic cycloaliphatic epoxy (HCEP).
