Abstract :
A method based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT) is presented to estimate the values of signal samples between any two consecutive samples of an already sampled 2-D band-limited continuous signal. In other words, the effect is as if one increased sampling rate and obtained new samples at the higher rate. This will be useful when storing or transmitting an image sampled at a lower rate and reconstructing it later with better quality
