Abstract :
The two-dimensional (2-D) axisymmetrical magnetohydrodynamic mathematical model of a nozzle arc is based on the modified Navier-Stokes equations of compressible gas flow. This 2-D flow-arc model Is solved in conjunction with the opening characteristics of the driving mechanism. Numerical results are presented and attention is paid to the arc clogging and hot-gas backflow. Thermal recovery behavior during current zero period is also discussed
