  • Abstract
Several agencies and associations are now attempting to track the IT workforce. Studies like these will be used by governments to help set economic strategy, employment and trade policies, training priorities, and legislative and regulatory initiatives, among other things. This article summarizes the findings contained in reports issued by: the US Bureau of Labor Statistics´ (BLSs) Occupational Outlook Handbook; the United Engineering Foundation (UEF); and the Computing Research Association
