Abstract :
This paper deals with time-assigned speech interpolation (TASI) systems. We show that under the assumptions of an exponential distribution for both talkspurt and silence duration, and the first-in first-out (FIFO) discipline, the percentage of talkspurts totally cut off coincides with the well-known formula of Weinstein (1978). In addition, we provide the probability distribution function (PDF) of the portion that a talkspurt is cut off under the FIFO discipline
