Abstract :
A simultaneous sliding window channel estimation and timing adjustment method is proposed for adaptive maximum-likelihood sequence equalizer (MLSE) in the global system for mobile communication (GSM) system, and also a tuning scheme based on least mean squared (LMS) algorithm is presented in order to improve the performance of equalizer. Simulation results show that the proposed channel estimation technique is effective for channel estimation of the adaptive equalizer.
