Abstract :
A new form of a measurement setup for shielding gaskets at microwave and millimeter-waves is proposed. Parallel metal plates separated by a center dielectric rod is used as a transmission line in which the gasket sample is placed to block wave propagation. The shielding effectiveness is determined by the transmitting power through the sample. By this setup, the shielding evaluation can be made over the frequency range from 13 to 110 GHz. The field distributions along the sample calculated based on a dielectric antenna theory and the measurements results for some gasket samples are described
