Abstract :
A new additive decomposition technique is proposed for two-dimensional (2-D) infinite impulse response (IIR) filters. This approach results in lower-order rational z-domain transfer functions. The decomposition is achieved by a nonlinear optimization technique. A numerical example demonstrates the high numerical accuracy of the achieved results
