Abstract :
This paper discussed about a young doctor who took control of her online identity. Smitha Ballyamanda, a 23-year old medical student , deactivated her Facebook account after her stalker created false accounts and hacked her Hotmail and Facebook accounts that began sending bizarre e-mails. Countless such privacy-related minidramas have already played out behind the scenes of the world´s largest social net work. Now, with hundreds of millions of users, and firms like Google eager to take on Facebook with social networks of their own, it´s a good time to ask: How many of us are ready for total transparency?
