Abstract :
Using the concept of brackets, the author proposes to treat the reciprocity and antireciprocity of resistive n-ports as a kind of commutativity of controlling variables. On the basis of the brackets formalism, it is shown that, at least locally, both reciprocity and antireciprocity provide the existence of weakly hybrid representation. In particular, reciprocity and antireciprocity of an m-dimensional n-port imply m⩽n
